Mental Health First Aid Refresher (MHFA)

Personal Effectiveness, Wellbeing

We recommend that Mental Health First Aiders® attend a Refresher course every three years. Just like physical first aid, updating skills and knowledge allows people to perform this vital role confidently and safely.

To attend an MHFA Refresher course, individuals must have one of the following:

  • An in-date MHFA England Mental Health First Aid certificate, within 3.5 years of the course
  • An equivalent and eligible Level 3 mental health first aid qualification that was gained in the last three years. This includes the following:
    • FutureQuals Level 3 Award in Mental Health: Workplace First Aider
    • FAA Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)
