Have you ever been in a situation where you want to challenge someone’s behaviour - but you didn’t know how to do it or what to say?

This session aims to help staff to challenge poor behaviours which may have become normalised over time. It includes self-coaching techniques to help you keep a cool head when you’re faced with a challenging situation - and assertive language devices which you can use to make sure your voice is heard if you want to raise a concern.

Every session includes:

  • A video demonstrating bystander apathy
  • References to high profile examples of inappropriate/unacceptable behaviour
  • Decision-making techniques to help people overcome fear and self doubt when faced with a challenging situation
  • Assertiveness techniques to give them the confidence and tools to speak out, whether they are dealing with the challenge directly or calling for help from others
  • Four scenarios of negative behaviour, group discussion and interactivity
