Audience

Anyone who has to deal with a variety of delicate issues which may result in people problems. This course will help delegates achieve their goals whilst taking account of the feelings of others.

Duration

2.5 hours + 2 hours on 1 day (you must attend all sessions)

Delegate rate

Approximately £100 per day per delegate. Charges depend on how many delegates book.

On completion staff should be able to:

  • To identify assertive, aggressive & submissive behavior
  • To explore the reasons for our behaviour
  • To understand the dynamics of good communication

  • To develop & practice assertive communication skills
  • To learn how to handle criticism effectively
  • To increase personal confidence

  •    What is assertion?
  •    Assertion, submission & aggression
  •    Understanding my rights/freedoms

 Blocks to assertive behaviour:

  •    What do we gain from non-assertion?
  •    How do we change?
  •    Fear of change

 Communication:

  •    Communication theory
  •    The Parent, Adult, Child model
  •    Establishing Adult communication             

Developing a confident style:

  •     Establishing contracts
  •     Saying no
  •     Handling interruptions
  •     Responding to criticism
  •     Handling negative attitudes  
  •     Communicating your point of view
  •     Building confidence

Delivered online. You must attend all the sessions.

Online sessions include usual breaks. Course link(s) are auto-sent from [email protected] a few days in advance of delivery. Full instructions and course handouts will also be sent in advance.
